Linn has released the new Klimax Radikal external power supply and Keel SE sub-chassis upgrades for its highly acclaimed Sondek LP12 turntable.
The Klimax Radikal power supply now replaces 2018’s original Radikal Machined, while the Keel SE is an improved version of 2006’s original Keel. The Klimax Radikal replaces the standard power supply with the now incorporated and highly efficient Utopik power supply, providing regulated rails among other improvements. The Klimax Radikal’s 14kg, three-piece solid aluminium chassis now features improved isolation against vibrational distortions. The solid chassis sits on machined stainless steel footers featuring rubber ring inserts. The Utopik power supply is housed in a dedicated aluminium enclosure in order to isolate it from the Klimax Radikal’s sensitive electrical circuitry.
The Keel SE has been designed with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), achieving a 300% stiffer construction while also offering a more “… balanced centre of mass, reduced inertia, and improved acoustic isolation”. So, overall, the Keel SE sub-chassis surpasses its Keel predecessor by an even more rigid and precise mounting platform for the LP12’s tonearm and bearing system. As Linn states, these two elements of the turntable are the most significant in terms of sonic performance.
The new Klimax Radikal external power supply and Keel SE sub-chassis upgrades will be available in Australia in late October 2025 via importer Advance Audio Australia’s country-wide dealer network.
